Growing trees in Proof of Shade is not a set-and-forget system. Every seed needs care. When you plant a seed, you must water it to begin its growth. Once your tree matures, it will keep needing water to stay healthy and continue producing $AFC.

After 24 hours without water, your tree becomes sick and enters a danger zone. You have a six-hour window to water it back to health.

Which means if a tree is left unattended for 30 hours, it dies permanently and stops generating yield forever.
